‘A Baroque star, no doubt’, wrote The Sunday Times of the Italian countertenor. As well as appearing with numerous established specialists in the field, in 2015 he founded the artistic collective La Lira di Orfeo, with which he has recorded several CDs, including Giulio Cesare: A Baroque Hero, which was awarded best album at the 2019 Premio Abbiati awards.
The focus of the programme is the prolific, archetypal Venetian Baroque composer – one the artist knows well from recent performances of operas such as Farnace (Venice, 2021), Il Giustino (Drottningholm, 2022), L’Olimpiade (Innsbruck, 2023) and Tamerlano (Venice, 2024).
